NV’s GeForce 8700 May Still Exist , But Will Only Exist in OEM Market
In those days everyone talked about G92 equal to 8700. But after 8800GT announced, all of us forgot the name “8700″. But an info today form our source surprise us: 8700 still exists. But what core will it use?
Let’s see what’s in the upcoming G9X series: entry level new 8400GS(G98), high end 8800GT(G92)and a even higher 8800GTS(G92)。
It is easy to find out that in the series there is a speace left for the mainsteam card. Maybe it is the room for 8700. It’s still unknown that the core is an OCed G98 or an downgraded G92. but NV says 8700 wont have retail version, it may only live in OEM market. NV wont have any PR program for 8700 becource it may hurt the mainsteam sales.
