Full VC-1 decode, 65nm New 8400GS(D8M) Coming Soon
AMD’s HD 2400 Pro is always the first choice of those digital home FullHD playback users.(of course the driver have been a problem for some time) . NV fears and now pushing the new 65nm 8400GS.
G86 (8400GS) ——> D8M (8400GS)
As we said before, the new 8400GS(codename D8M and G98) is 65nm,and supporting PICe gen2. NV said that it supports HDMI and Dual Link HDCP. However we think it will use another decode chip to link up with the SPDIF. The card is using 256 DDR2 memory and the card TDP will not more than 30W.
The appearence will not have any difference with the old 8400GS, and NV said the proformance are the same with old ones. So it is sure that the core/memory frequency is 459MHz/800MHz. with the PCIe Gen2. The new 8400GS will also provides ful VC-1 decode, now all the cards NV have cant do this trick. So it’s sure that the PureVideo 3 logo will appear in the new 8400GS card.
according to the NV’s plan, the sample of the new 8400GS will ready in 17th Oct, the WQHL driver will finish in 7th Nov.By the way, the WHQL driver supporting 8800GT will out soon.
