Now it is still a long wait for the wolfdale dual core to launch, but lucky enough we got a chance to put our hands on a E8400. It is a mid level product, $183 (wholesale price) is absolutely friendly to our exetreme users.

Intel will unveil their x0.5 multiplier in the latest 45nm products.The lowest multiplier is X6, and between X7 to X13 Intel will add x0.5. This idea is because nowadays CPU’s FSB is already upgraded from 266MHz to 333MHz. If still using the old multiplier idea will led the product line becoming short and can not cover the whole market. Introducting x0.5 multiplier can let company have more models and can have a better product line planning and deployment.
And we got our hand’s on the E8400, Intel’s 45nm wolfdale processor, which will come to the market in Q1 08. Let’s expreience x0.5 multiplier with it.

790FX is the important part of AMD’s Spider platform, have lot’s of specs like HT 3.0, PCIe Gen2, AM2+ support and CrossfireX. But it’s pity that it still equip with a SB600 southbridge. Today we got our hands on Foxconn A79A-s, a 790FX mobo.
This mobo will have a SB700 southbridge and have a better support for surrounding slots. AMD said SB700 will out in 2008 Q1, but SB700’s sample will send to mobo bulider within a week. Let’s hope 790FX+SB700 can come out early.

NVIDIA is in driver-mania right now, publishing driver week after week, and each one have performance boosts. Now the latest driver is 169.12 beta. We know that 169.12 actually is a 169.09 with 8800GT standby/hibernate mode BSOD problem. Anyway we still want to test 169.12 beta with 163.75.
