G98 Coming Next month with Full VC-1 Decode

The upcoming RV620 needs a rival an here it is: the brand-new 8400GS with a new core G98. NVIDIA’s low end card is coming next month.
The driver is ready, and the sample cards are already sent to different manufactors, NV tells to everyone that they are almost ready to invade the HD playback market.
As a low-end card, the G98-8400GS only have 8 stream processors, 4 Texture Filtering Unit, 4 Texture Addressing Unit,2 ROPs. The memory interface is only 64bit, supports DDR2 memory. It’s frequency is 567MHz/1.4GHz(core/shader). The total performance will worse than the G86 version.
Why NV want to design a card like this? Becourse in this card, they are rolling out the PureVideo 3 engine with full VC-1 decode.
Of course this card support HDMI and DisplayPort, make it a nice deal to those who want to build a HTPC system. The card support PCIe Gen2 but we think it doesn’t need so many bandwidth.
NV may annouance the card in Dec.3 with the G92-8800GTS and 3-way SLI in the same date. So please keep the date in mind.

[...] And here is some unconfirmed info: GeForce 9600 GT may pin-to-pin to 8800GT,that means they will use the same PCB. Also the memory will be 256bit, GPU supports DX 10.1 and ShaderModel 4.1, and the card have the same HD playback ability as G98. [...]
