RV620 got a nice score in 3DMark06

In the latest entry we know that RV620 have the same core frequency with refrence HD 2400 pro. For your information, the RV620′s frequency is 525/400MHz (core/mem).

But what about the architecture? Does AMD change the architecture and give athe RV620 a boost like R600 to R670?

So we have a small test here:

Test bed: Intel Celeron 460(2.4GHz), Foxconn P35A-S, 1GB*2 memory, Windows Vista Ultimate, and a RV620 and a refrence HD 2400Pro.

HD2400 Pro got 1123 at 3DMark06 (click to enlarge)

RV620 got 1514 at 3DMark06 (click to enlarge)

Comparing to HD 2400 Pro, RV620 got a score 35% higher in the same frequency. That means the architecture are improved.

Try compare to NVIDIA’s G98: G98 got 1236 in 3DMark06. So bandle with UVD, HDMI and DisplayPort, i think RV620 will be a nice low end/HTPC card.
