[First look]Experience x0.5 multiplier with E8400
Intel will unveil their x0.5 multiplier in the latest 45nm products. The lowest multiplier is X6, and between X7 to X13 Intel will add x0.5. This idea is because nowadays CPU’s FSB is already upgraded from 266MHz to 333MHz. If still using the old multiplier idea will led the product line becoming short and can not cover the whole market. Introducting x0.5 multiplier can let company have more models and can have a better product line planning and deployment.
And we got our hand’s on the E8400, Intel’s 45nm wolfdale processor, which will come to the market in Q1 08. Let’s expreience x0.5 multiplier with it.
