Sapphire HD 3850 512MB with customized heatsink
Sapphire is going to launch a new HD 3850 with memory enlarged to GDDR3 512MB and with a new customized heatsink. The new card is using a reference PCB, and the frequency of core and memory remain unchanged: 670MHz/1660MHz (core/mem).
Sapphire said they may add some heatsink fans on it so the card pictured here may not be the final design, Also they did not decide the final price and the date of release. Click read the rest of the entry and you will find more pics inside.

I like it a lot.
This will be the replacement of my Gigabyte 8600GT silent.
It is good that the 512MB are running in the same clocks (but what about timings?)
I want it to be compared to the 256MB with fan at same clocks

@Spyrus
Yes,We compare with 3850 256MB and HD3870

This document is about a 256MB silent version clocked a little lower
than default specs. So is 512MB postponed?

I have a Dell E510 with all of the slots full. The PCI E card goes on top and there is a big empty space in the middle that would be a great place to stick the heat sink. Unfortunetly the heat sink in these pictures is mounted on the wrong side to do this. Does any body know if it can be flipped around to be on the other side of the card like the thermalright heat sink? http://www.thermalright.com/product_default.htm

@Rob
maybe you have to buy a reference HD 3850 and a HR-03 GT
because you can see clearly in the third pic, the cooler’s contact surface is single not dual..

Thanks, I will probably just get a standard 3850 if the fan is too noisy for an HTPC then I will get the HR-03 GT for it.

Be careless in your dress if you will, but keep a tidy soul.
