First look: Gigabyte X48T DQ6
Gigabyte X48T DQ6 looks like its processor X38 DQ6, seems nearly nothing changed on the board’s layout, only the north bridge heatsink is a little bigger.
Also the mobo can support 0.5x multiplier CPU. If you using a Q9550 then you can adjust multiplier by 6X, 6.5X, 7X, 7.5X, 8X, 8.5X.
The biggst addon of the board is DES system. Similar to ASUS EPU, DES system is also a power manage system. With the system the board can save more power in idle mode.

A few capacitors and chips more than X38 DQ6. Also noticed the heatsink of northbridge is bigger.

Supports DDR3-1900.

“CrzayCool” heatsink at the back. There’s also six MOSFETs.

12 phase power module.

I/O panel is the same with X38T

Dual BIOS and two PCIe Gen2 slots.

Clockgen here.

PWN management chip isl6312 for north bridge.

isl6312 for memory slot.

a isl6327 six phase PWM chip for CPU.

And here is the DES LED. When the platform is power on, all 12 phase in the work.
Idled in Windows, only 4 phase power in work. All this auto-adjusting by DES system.
