Spy pics of AMD’s next gen RV770 PCB
Chiphell leaks two pics of RV770′s PCB. The PCB have eight memory chip mounted but not GPU. It looks similar to HD 3850′s PCB, but the memory position and power module have some slight change.
The cooler remain unchanged. We can expect the card’s final release in some time first half of 2008.

I am a little confused here. I have read that the R700 will be consisted of two rv770s. So the above card must be the smaller model with one rv770. Whatever the case ati needs this chip FAST! GT200 is coming and as we have seen nv is on the roll for the past 15 months. So i guess they will release a new beast. So for ATI’s sake the new chip must be just as good and even better. I just hope they fix the stupid raster operations and the shader engine this time…

May be that this chip is an single chip dualcore? with two 770 cores in on die.

You explanation is i think the most probable. I remember now that the next gen multicore chips from ATI will have internal interconnections aka same die!
