Performance test: Crysis V1.1 & 169.28 beta

In Crysis V1.1 patch release notes, developer said the patch can boost the SLI/Crossfire platform performance. So lets see with the new driver and patch, how well the performance will become.

Before installing the 1.1 patch: 1.1.1.5767

After: 1.1.1.5879, adds VSYNC options.

Also adds Motion blur option.

Test Bed:

Intel Core2 Q6700(OC: 10*333MHz)

Foxconn P35A-S

Galaxy GF 8800GT 512MB

SAPPHIRE HD 3850 256MB X2

1GBX2 DDR2

Windows Vista Ultimate

Test one. A for Crysis before patch and B for after applying the patch.

Test two. The performance of the new driver. The VGA card is 8800GT 512MB.

Because of our platform, the only test we can do today is Crossfire:

A for before the patch and B for after patching

So the patch and the new beta driver surely did have some improvement, but not much. While in the gameplay we can not even feel it is patched. Too bad today we can’t run the test based on a SLI platform.

If i’m not mistaken, for the 3850 single card at 1280 we get 20fps while TWO of the same cards with crossfire score 12fps. As i said in previous posts there is something terribly wrong here. Thank GOD that the 3870×2 seems to work better than that.

    8FPS LESS WITH TWO CARDS.

So either crysis needs to patch up more or ATI must sit their asses on their workbeches and FIX THE DAMN DRIVERS.
