ATI Radeon HD 3690 hits the market for $124

The brand is Maxsun but if you compare to the card on this post, you know the card is actually made by Triplex. The card like HD 3850 and HD 3870, also use RV670 as its GPU. It have 8 memory chips but only 256MB so 32MB per chip, another nice cut on the production cost. The memory is Samsung 1.2ns GDDR3, and core/memory clock is 670/1660MHz.

Of course today not only HD3690 got released, HD 3650 and HD 3450 also launched by AMD too.
The card launches today, so the price is a bit higher than expected, about 124USD. We believe the price of the card can finally lower to 110USD.

PS: It seems the card is also a China only product. Another wired move of AMD.

Hmm, it’s quite weird, because the Triplex card only has 4 chips on board, while Maxsun card has full fledged 8 chips on it. From my understanding, the card buswidth is physically printed on the PCB, so if the card form Maxsun, a HD 3690 which is supposed to only be equipped with 128 bit buswidth, actually has the same chip count with Unika HD 3850 GDDR4 which in my opinion shares the same PCB with those particular HD 3690 cards -only equipped with different kinda caps & coils, it would mean that Maxsun HD 3690 is INDEED actually a 256 bit VGA card.

    WEIRD !

    3690 256bits? then this is a 3850!

    Stop making things up,
1:memory chips can be printed on both sides of the circuit board
2:memory chips can be of different sizes, 32mb, 64mb etc..
3:There can be variants of the card with different amounts of memory, i dont know what this card exactly supports but 3850 supports 256mb and 512mb.
Besides, manufacturers can use theyre own PCB designs instead of the default one specified by the chip manufacturer(ATi)
It is very possible that the one with only 4 chips has the four other chips on the other side of the card ;)
