NVIDIA 9800GX2 pushed back, ATI HD 3850,3650 to get a price drop

The two G92 card 9800 GX2 already got a delay but NVIDIA seems still got some de-bug work to do. According to VR-Zone, NVIDIA just imform its partner, 9800 GX2’s launch will be hold back until March 18.
NVIDIA did not mention why but graphic card partner said it is the driver problem.
Another side, AMD deside to lower the price of HD 3000 series card. Price of HD 3650 and HD 3850 will get 20% off, even the high end HD 3870 will lower its price a bit.
They also mentioned HD 3870 X2 will get a new PLX bridge chip in April, which supports PCIe 2.0.

It seems that Nvidia is giving AMD every chance to rebound in the video card sector, and they are really capitalizing on it.
I have a feeling we are in for some very interesting times this year…

I’m eager to see how the high end 9 series works, after the bugs have been removed..

Why do they delay the gx2, again and again and again? Are they too stupid to put two g92 cores on one card? Rather not, as they’ve already done another dual chip card.
So the reason can only be that in its present form, it would lose out to the 3870×2, so they need more time to tweak it until they finally got a result that doesn’t look quite as bad.
Good move on Amd’s side there.

The move is good on AMD’s side but AMD has a long way to go to catch up with nVDIA. the 3870×2 aint so good as it looks like.

Wtf are you talking about. The hd 3870 is a little slower then the 8800gx2, however it is is sold at a fraction of the cost. Furthermore, crossfire currently scales much better then sli and can run on intel chipsets. I would rather eat my own shit then to buy a nvidia chipset or to even thing about running the fucking piece of shit. So all in all the hd 3870 x2 gives a real kick to nvidia’s balls, hopefully to it’s fanboys as well.
