GT200 to become 9900GTX and 9900GX2, launch date set to July*Update*

 

Update: According to sources, 9900GX2 do not exist. We are sorry for the mistakes.

According to our sources, GT200’s final product name and launch day have been set. Two NVIDIA GeForce card will use the core, they are 9900GX2 and 9900GTX.

It is similar to today’s NV tactic: 9900GX2 just like todays 9800GX2, it is a two GPU product, and 9900GTX is a conventional single GPU product. Source mentions that both cards will be announce in July. In previous rumors, words have it that NV will improve G9X core by rolling out GT200. But detailed information still unknown.

Official: No more discrete chipset from NVIDIA

 

From now on, NVIDIA will only focus on chipsets with integrated graphics, no more discrete chipset. The 750a and 780a will be the first mainstream and high end nForce mobo with integrated graphics.

This announcement means NVIDIA want to fortify their VGA card market. In the past time on nForce board you can run ATI or other company’s VGA card, but after 750a/780a no one will do this: because NVIDIA have paper launched Hybrid SLI. No nForce user want to disable Geforce Boost and Hybrid Power by buying ATI or other company’s card. So it is a win-win situation: users got more performance, save more power, NVIDIA got more bankroll.

Details of Intel Atom

 

What’s Intel Atom? Intel’s Atom is a basic moblie platform, including N270 CPU and 945GSE/ICH-7M chipset. N270 is a 1.60GHz/533MHz/512K L2 cache/Single Core/2 Threads small CPU. They developing under codename Diamondville.

What can Intel’s Atom do? According to Noury Al-Khaledy Intel’s manager of Atom division, the platform can let you surfing on net, or playing normal movies. Don’t expect the platform can have much power, it is only a 1.6GHz 512K L2 thingy. The small platform can run Win Vista Starter, WinXP, and Linux.

What intel gonna do is to make it a ultra mobile nettop, and make lots of money from it. According to PCGH, the price ranged from 199USD to 250USD.

AMD roadmap updated with B3 Phenoms

 

AMD finally fixed the annoying TLB bug in their Phenoms and pushing it out again with stepping B3. Phenoms with B3 stepping will be called 9850, 9750, 9650, 9550 and 9150. All of them will hit the market within two weeks, according to Digitimes.
