ForceWare 169.02 WHQL

This is the first WHQL driver for GeForce 8800GT. Release Date: Oct.30, 2007.

ForceWare 169.28 beta

In Dec.21, 2007, NVIDIA released ForceWare 169.25WHQL for 3-way SLI and GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB. This driver not only supports new hardware but also fixes lots of GeForce 6/7/8 issue/bugs under Vista, and raise SLI scaling as well.

Accompany with Crysis V1.1 patch, 169.28 beta has been released in Dec 21. The 169.28 beta is based on 169.25 WHQL.

ForceWare 174.16 WHQL

174.16 WHQL was released in Feb. 22, it is a 9600GT exclusive driver, how ever we can mod nv4_disp.inf to make it run with other GeForce cards. Other than adding support for the new card, the driver also add lots of HD video enhancing features.

    That is very interesting. When the 9600GT runs at a unplayable FPS (below 30FPS), the 8800GT is also runs below 30FPS.

    edit nv4_disp.inf, add your card’s device ID and you can make it run

    Need to rebench with the latest official 174.53 WHQL drivers for 9600GT. Also the latest 174.74 leaked drivers supports all GF6/7, GF8 and GF9 without needing to mod the inf.

    With your prices no different absolutelly! $100 – is NOT different.
    But other countries with other prices exists to. ;)

    @Edd, coz so many countries out there, so we have use newegg to compare.

    eg. in our local market(china), the 96GT is only 25% cheaper than 88gt.

    where do you live Edd? The price is so…..high..

    are you sure you are going to run two 8800GT with M3A32? it is a 790FX chipset which did not support SLI…

    Hi yes this board is dual pci and is capable of sli ..Its just in the driver than nvidia gives out that enables/disables the option..And this all comes down to which company has payed for the sli option..

    however, Xbitlabs has released a review comparing 9600GT in SLI over 8800GTS 512mb and 9800GTX.
