Official: No more discrete chipset from NVIDIA
From now on, NVIDIA will only focus on chipsets with integrated graphics, no more discrete chipset. The 750a and 780a will be the first mainstream and high end nForce mobo with integrated graphics.
This announcement means NVIDIA want to fortify their VGA card market. In the past time on nForce board you can run ATI or other company’s VGA card, but after 750a/780a no one will do this: because NVIDIA have paper launched Hybrid SLI. No nForce user want to disable Geforce Boost and Hybrid Power by buying ATI or other company’s card. So it is a win-win situation: users got more performance, save more power, NVIDIA got more bankroll.
The another side, AMD’s 780G have been launched for more than a month (in Chinese market) and received lots of applause. But driver which can enable Hybrid Crossfire just released for few days, so still far from saying Hybrid Crossfire can bundle the selling of HD 3xxx VGA card and 780G mobo. And it is unknown that AMD got a similar plan to totally drop discrete chipset or not.
The MB market seems becoming more and more interesting.

It means that Nvidia will add an onboard GPU on EVERY new chipset they release so that less people will buy an ATI card for casual gaming or mediacenter, etc…

It mean that integrate graphic are so cheap manufacturing right now and that more people are energy conscience. So like 1+1=2 they add integrate card to satisfied these people.
One addiction benefit is that when the video card fried or go haywire there is alway a backup.

It means that you can only get the geforce boost and hybrid power to work with nvidia cards. They think everyone wants the boost in graphics so they won’t buy ati cards. Is gonna get ugly chip war. hehe

[...] Because of Hybrid SLI, NVIDIA mainstream market strategy is now facing a big change. The new chipset, MCP7A-H, have been canned before it enters the market. Because it is lack of integrated graphic, can not meet the needs of NV’s recent changed strategy. [...]
