[Review]GeForce 9600GT 256MB

β—†Final conclusion

As a “shrink” product, 9600GT 256MB successfully lower the production cost by cutting off half of the memory, still keeps all its feature, and the performance slightly higher than HD 3850 256MB. A HD3850 256MB will cost you 154USD, AMD should revise their pricing tactic, to lower HD 3850 256MB or to roll our HD 3830 quick.

But because its performance is 7% weaker than 8800GS 384MB, so we guess the final price will be around 130~140USD. The low performance under 8800GS 384MB comparison is because the limitation of the small memory size, can not fully utilize the 256Bit memory interface. Expect the new mainstream product can hit foreign market soon.
