[Review]GeForce 9600GT 256MB

◆HD video playback test

Like other G94 card, 9600GT 256MB also supports Purevideo Gen 2, can fully hardware decode H.264. The same with GeForce 8600/8500/8400/8800GT. Of course, VC-1′s Bitstream Processing still left to CPU, so the card can only done a 3/4 hardware VC-1 decode.

In our test we use an entry level Intel Celeron 460(2.4GHz 200*12) to show the card’s hardware decode ability. The video clip we use is Deja Vu(VC-1),X-MAN3(H.264/AVC),and Pioneer_DEMO2006(MPEG-2).

The card have the same hardware decode ability with reference 9600GT. Of course, NVIDIA have add some new PV HD feature to strengthen 9600GT’s HD video playback ability.
