Galaxy make the first low profile GeForce 9600GT “Blade”

Some HTPC users just don’t want to use a crappy 8400GS or HD 2400 in their highly polished rigs, so here is a chance: Galaxy showed us a low profile 9600GT. Click over to read more.
Though the card becomes smaller but its spec did not change a lot: G94, 8 16×32 Samsung DDR3 memory module on board, providing 256bit 512MB memory, 8 layer PCB for stability, and one HDTV and one HDMI connectors. because of the tight area, the card did not provide MIO connector for SLI but guys at Galaxy told us that the card can do a “software SLI”(but this time we don’t got a chance to see it). Don’t forget NV have done some color enhancement in driver that excursively for 9 series.
The price and availably is not clear, but I guess it will be one of the highest low profile GFX card.

Sweet, I currently have the 8500gt lp by msi. 256 of ddr2 video lameness matched up with vista64, 8gb ram & e8400 in htpc case. it has hdmi with spdif connector to mobo, but i’ll be looking forward to this one. oh, and the msi one still cost an additional eight bucks because they purposely didn’t include a low profile bracket. seriously, wtf, eh.

I know the card is low profile but I need to know if it is also low factor. I have a dell optiplex 745 that uses low factor and low profile cards. And this cards interests me a lot, since it is also very affordable.

I’m an unfortunate owner of a Dell C521 and have been dying for a low profile alternative to the 8800GT for soooo long now!
I seriously hope that this becomes a reality on the local online Irish / UK market soon now! It will probably save me (and many others) from having to modify the PC’s case and ‘upgrading the PSU, Again!
Oh and… “EC” Dont under estimate your standard Dell Power supply etc. if that is what you are actually worried about! Anyone at the Dell Community Forums will tell you the same thing! Mainly that.. As long as your system isn’t over loaded with extra internal add ons etc., The standard 280W power supply will easily suit a GPU requiring a recommended 400W at most! When Dell say “280W”… it’s just them staying waaay too much on the safe side! The PSU’s they make and supply are actually much more powerful than stated on the box!
