ATI graphic cards going external

XG station from ASUS, another vaporware

Β It seems ATI is going external graphic cards, according to Fudzilla, ATI going to unveil a product “Lasso” accompanying its notebook platform “Puma”. No reports of the card’s connections but They say it is based on RV670 GPU.

Express card slots can be found on most of todays notebooks, and ASUS’s XG Station is also using the slot. Though the slot is PCIe, but its bandwidth have been limited to X1, so it will totally bottled RV670’s performance. Anyway the product is still in mist so let’s wait and see if they can choose another wise way.
