Channel sources:Abit is considering phasing out of motherboard market
Earlier yesterday, digitimes reported that the second-tier motherboard maker Abit is “considering phasing out of the motherboard market after evaluating its shipment performance of Intel 4 series motherboards”, according to channel sources.
Abit has failed to meet the expectation of its parent company Universal Scientific Industrial (USI). Abit has failed to beat the fellow second-teir makers in terms of performance, and failed to compete with the first-tier makers in terms of pricing, noted the sources. What’s more, Abit had set a 6 million shipment goal, which seems far more beyond its capacity, the sources added.
However, Abit has denied it. Abit claimed they know nothing about the speculation and will go on developing motherboard products.

Oh no no no and again no. Please ABIT don’t stop making mobos. You are the greatest guys. Jesus Christ the competition in the mobo market keeps shrinking. Please don’t leave us with the worthless ASUS. Thank god we still have Gigabyte.
