Intel presents:CPU vs Graphics & CPU vs RAM
With the lastest year 2008 Intel Roadmap in hand ,two interesting parts of “Graphics vs CPU” and “CPU vs RAM” were so full of entertainment.
First of all,Intel tested with a baseline plaform which included Intel Core2 DUO E6550(2.33GHz,4MB L2,1333MHz FSB),Intel DG33TL mobo with G33 integrated Graphics, then an NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX was pluged in.At last Intel upgrade the platform with one E8400(3GHz,6MB L2).The test item including 3D rendering, music, photos and video, you can see the expensive GraphicCard can do nothing at all,but the new high end CPU can provide real benefit to your PC performance, the video process test score even doubled due to the new CPU.
Not only the Graphics, intel used another platform to run a “CPU VS RAM” test, the same answer come out that upgrade your CPU is better than maximum your RAM.

That is uterly stupid. they tested only applications that do not use the GPU. look at it: 3D rendering is CPU based ! it is not directX RT rendering they are talking about they ran a ray tracer, and … surprise, more CPU mean better performances.
Music, photos, video encoding also do not use GPU, because today, only video replay on screen uses the GPU, not video encoding, at least most of the time, and i bet intel tests did not use GPU accelerated encoding.
Same trick for memory upgrade. I bet they tested with a bench software on top of a naked windows install with defender de activated. Now a vista premium defaul tinstall, with defender activated, an email client and a web browser opened for a few hour, and your HD gets hot from swapping with 1Gb and integrated graphics, but I bet they did not bench the time required to launch a fresh office session with software already running, just a benchmark software after a cold boot. in that configuration you never swap, memory upgrade can’t change a thing; but I.R.L. that just never happens, and you end up with memory upgrade beeing the most sensible thing to do with the test bed proposed

point less fight…..

That’s stupid. Intel assume us are as stupid as they are.

this news is Intel ready to “CPU-Graphic Fusion-Core’s War” [AMD-nVidia]
(that right! is AMD-nVidia)
PS. Fusion-Core Copy from AMD and AMD is take hand from nVidia Graphic , Chip
/heh! (this CPU is same same … IBM Boardband Cell Processor 8Core+RSX!! PS3)

You don’t buy a GPU for music, you buy it for games!

Because games are the only thing that use GPU, right intel? I guess if I fired up 3D Studio Max I’d be ok with integrated graphics…. wait, no!
Who are they trying to fool?

STRAROTL THATS THE CRAZIEST THING I EVE SAW IN A GRAPHIC HAHAHAHAHHA

That’s just dumb how they tick GPU and CPU for games. Of course it’s going to be both, but which is going to be more vital?
Also with the other tests, the GPU doesn’t get used, so the point is moot.

yeah…
don’t think intel will provoked with NVIDIA taunt..
they showing their stupid-ness, aren’t they?
but yes, too, the world’s full of moron that will ‘eat’ what intel and NVIDIA said.
