The Guys over at OCworkBench tried ASUS SmartDoctor and find out the utility can adjust fan speed from 0% to 100%.
Rivatuner needs a update to support HD 4850, and according to Unwinder the latest verion won’t out until the end of July. So seems HD 4850 users need another utility to adjusting fan speed.

Hotfix’size is up to 63.2MB, including the CCC and driver.

4800 driver is open source this time, and this hotfix’s official page notes that the driver hasn’t been full tested by AMD . It’s possible that it’s a third-party driver. When we setup the hotfix, WHQL showed up as well.

ATI today releases a hotfix for HD 4800series. This Hotfix improves overall performance and stability. The Hotfix includes the Display Driver and Catalyst Control Center. The hotfix supports:

Right after nVIDIA announcing its 9800 GTX+ yesterday, Galaxy releases its own piece. Galaxy 9800 GTX+ is clocked at 738/1836/1100MHz(core/shader/memory), while its former 9800 GTX 675/1688/1100MHz。What’s more, the ‘plus’ uses 0.8ns GDDR3 which is basically clocked at 1250MHz, that means 150MHz for overclocking.

Right after HD 4850′s unofficial debut, NVIDIA act fast and send every one their new product notice: 9800GTX+ is just at the corner. Basically saying, the card is still a 9800GTX but with NVIDIA’s first 55nm GPU chip and a higher clock.

K|ngp|n was able to overclocked the GTX 280 from 602MHz to 980MHz. What’s more, taking advantage of a tri-sli, the platform scored the amazing X17241 in 3DMark Vantage Extreme.As far as we know in the ORB, the top just scored X9652.the platform is listed as follow:

After a long wait for the embargo day, alienware ultimatly announced three game PCs equiped with GTX 280. What attract us most must be the tri-sli GTX 280 system – the Area-51 ALX. In spite of three GTX 280, the Area-51 ALX features an overclocked QX9770 which jump from 3.2GHz to 4.0GHz. Here are something other features:

PowerColor is the first company to unveil HD 4850. The card currently hits the shelf of Hongkong PC stores early with the price tag 1699HKD (about 218USD).
Please notice the card is still in NDA, will be officially announced in 25th of this month. But no one cares about NDA anymore, because the card have been selling like hot cakes in HK for several days.

Earlier today VR-ZONE built GTX 280 to a tri-SLI system.In order to remove some CPU bottleneck they overclocked QX9650 to 4GHz. And the tri-SLI system scored P21350 in 3DMark Vantage.
