liquid metal inside heatpipe: Danamic LM-10 CPU cooler

Danamic have annunced their CPU cooler LM10. It looks like a normal tower cooler with heatpipe, but inside “heatpipe” it is liquid metal…
Another surprise is the little black box in the top of the cooler: that’s a electromagnetic pump. According to Danamic, the pump”contains no moving parts, shafts, seals, etc., emits no noise or vibration, has unlimited MTBF and suffers no performance degrading over time.” Danamic did not announce release date and price. Will this cooler become another vaporware?

I hope it does not end up being vaporware as it is always a nice welcome for advancing technologies.

pumping mercury around like that would create some very intresting thermal dynamics, I’ll be very intrested to see how this thing performs.
But in terms of the electromagnetic pump, those things are cool, same tech used on modern unclear submarines, no more giant loud props and diesel engines, its possible to make a modern sub without a single moving part when it comes to propulsion –need some pretty monster voltages though.

circulating mercury….nice!

cool.. i’m thinking that the magnet would need a power source or something
