Conclusion

Although we have been expecting the TB120 to come out since its announcement, expecting it will enhance air cooling technology to a new level, it turn out to be just a facelift product of U120E. However, TB120 is priced at $69.99 while U120E $59.99. Let’s analyse the $10 margin:

  • Performance: same, no margin

  • Two wire fan clips: about $1

  • Silicone grease: decrease in quantity, minus margin

So the Nickle Plating equals $9? Now you might remember our “black” statement in the introduction. The “black” nickle plating turns out to be gray, fails to achieve enough abrasion resistance. If you prefer a black cooler, that will be OK. But if you don’t care the color, on the other hand, the price of TB120 will be “black” for you.

    i sure was expecting at least some diference out of the True 120 BE. what a pity.

    i’ve got a question for you ppl, do fingerprints still get stuck on the top metal plate even with the nicke coating? i belive that problem should be solved now.
