790i pulled by motherboard makers, goodbye to nForce?
If you go to official sites of DFI, Gigabyte and Foxconn, youwon’tbe able to see any products based on nForce 790i.

Foxconn’s product list

Gigabyte’s product list
Similar situation appears on DFI’s homepage. Considering what Digitimes has reported, all media are wondering whether NVIDIA is leaving chipsets market. However, it’s curtness to tell that NVIDIA is leaving.
For one thing, Gigabyte often gives their nForce mobos a glance to public and hardly push it to market or just to limited area. nForce mobos never become Gigabyte’s main products.
For the other thing, as an OEM Foxconn mainly focus on the requirments of their customers. The reason why it pulls nForce 790i back is more likely to be some marketing consider.
Taking into account the two reasons, it’s too early to tell that NVIDIA is leaving the chipset market. We can only tell NVIDIA’s chipsets line facing some change. Let’s expect what will happen when NVIDIA announces MCP7A and MCP79.
