Intel to unveil SSD with speed up to 240/170MB

Recent roadmap update hints Intel are going to unveil three new SSD. The new X series SSDs are  insane with read/write speed up to 240/170MB!

Like other SSD products, The X series have two size, 2.5′ and 1.8′. X25-E is the top-of-the-line product, and E is of course stands for extreme. X25-M and X18-M focus on power saving, in active mode the power consumption keeps 0.25W, very impressive number.

X25-E have two models, 32GB and 64GB, will hit the market in the last quarter of 08. Also 160GB X25-M will unveil at the same time.  80GB X25-M and X18-M will launch in thrid quarter this year. But 160G X18-M will be the latest, release date set to 09 Q1. Expect these insane SSD will have a insane price tag.

FYI:Since Micron and Intel are working closely to develop the “World’s fastest NAND Flash Memory“, I guess these X series SSD is the final product.
