PowerColor HD 4870 in our hand, looks even better than reference

This HD 4870 looks like reference, but have a better cooling and enhanced VRM. The card runs at 800/950MHz, factory overclocked a bit.ย We just got the card, it looks really sexy, and we will gonna test it…


Reference: 3 phase digital VRM for GPU, but this one in pic is a 4 phase VRM (notice the long chip.)

He is right that the regulator is different, but the “long chip” in Picture 4 is an inductor, not a voltage regulator. The regulator is under the heatsink (duh!).
