Galaxy preparing Atom too…with ATX PCB?!

Sources mentions that Galaxy is now preparing a atom mobo. It is a bit different from other players, because while other vendors are busy making mini-itx atom mobo, Galaxy are going to unveil their atom with a ATX PCB design.

Just like other Atom boards, this one is a Atom N230 with 945GC/ICH7. But what makes this board unique is that the board has lots of expansion slots: five PCI, one PCIe x16 slot and a COM connector. It seems the board is designed not for normal DIY users but industry users. MSRP of the board is 100USD, but it won’t hit retail market now because normal DIYers doesnt need such specs.

It is a bit strange but there is always a market for anything. Hmmm, actually, I wouldn’t mind purchasing one just for simple things like web surfing or typing documents if I didn’t have already a computer to do so.

the whole thing looks weird when you compare the cpu’s size to the board’s size, it’s like installing tricycle’s wheels on a truck
