a sneak peak on intel’s September roadmap

Intel is going to roll out Core i7 in the end of this year, but they are not planning to release Havendale and Lynnfield until the end of 2009. However, the first half of 2009 is not a vacancy, Intel planing to launch several Core 2 CPU, they are Q8300, E7500, E5300 and E1500.From the roadmap we also can see that three Core i7 is coming in Q4 this year.

The three Core i7 CPU are Core i7-965 XE, Core i7-940 and Core-i7 920. Core i7-965 XE runs at 2.93GHz, QPI speed 6.4GT/s, PROD code: BX80601965.

Core i7-940 is a 2.93GHz Bloomfield, QPI speed slower than XE, runs at 4.8GT/s. the PROD code is BX80601940.

Core i7-920 is a mainstream Bloomfield, QPI speed keeps 4.8GT/s, core runs at 2.66GHz, and PROD code will be BX80601920. All 965 XE, 940 and 920 have 8MB L3 cache price will be 999USD, 562USD and 284USD, which we have mentioned in another post.

In the first month of next year 2009, Intel will launch several Core 2: Q8300 is a 45nm Yorkfield, have 4MB L2 cache, looks just like a Q8200, but frequency is a bit higher, it runs at 2.5GHz.

E7500 and E5300 both are 45nm Wolfdale, E7500 rated at 2.93GHz, L2 cache 3MB. E5300 core clock is 2.6GHz, L2 cache 2MB. The same with E5200, E5300 wouldn’t support Intel Viiv technology.

E1500 is a 65nm Conroe, frequency 2.2GHz, L2 cache is 512K.

Prices of all these Core 2 CPU are also confirmed

Q8300 = 224USD
E7500 = 133USD
E5300 = 86USD
E1500 = 53USD

* all price mentioned are 1KU pricing, not retail price.

    I’m looking forward to the E5300, hopefully, 2.7GHz, 13.5×200? I’m hoping for another overclocking godlike chip haha. I’m surprised in the nettop area though, wasn’t the Atom successor coming up in Q3 09?
