Intel planning a price cut on its CPU line this fall

Intel is planning to cut several CPU’s prices, including Q8200, Q6600, E7300, E2220 and E2200. The price adjustment will be put into effect starting from October 19th. It’s believed that the price is adjusted for new products coming in the end of the year.

Q8200 is currently sold at $224, and will be sold at $193 in October, down by $31. Q6600’s price will be reduced by $10, from $193 to $183. This price adjustment will make a hole for 45nm CPU in Q series, reserving the price level of $224 for Q8300 which will be launched at the beginning of next year.

E7300 will be reduced by $20, from $133 to $113, reserving price level for E7400 which will release in mid October. As to the entry-level CPU E2220 and E2200, their prices will both reduced by $10, to $74 and $64 respectively after Oct 19th.
