Intel’s Nehalem will be launched on November 17th, ensuring that three products will be released, Bloomfield(XE) will be named as Core i7-965XE, Bloomfield(P1) named as Core i7-940 and the Bloomfield(MS3) named as Core i7-920.
The Core i7-965XE at 3.2GHz, it will be sold at $999;Core i7-940 at 2.93GHz, sold at $562;Core i7-920Β at 2.66GHz, sold at $284.
Yet, at the same time, the motherboard manufacturers will launch their products of X58 , and the tirple channel kits of DDR3 comes into the market as well.

Remember folks, those costs are for 1000-unit bulk orders, retailers will add their own fees for going through the work of selling them to us, the individual costs will be higher.
Especially higher for those who desire them the first day they are available.
I say plan for at least 10% higher those quoted prices instead of BMS’ing about price gouging that isn’t happening.

Looking forward to that launch. No, I won’t upgrade, not until prices comes down. Cpu: $300, motherboard $200-$300 and three channel ram? Another $200 easily.
Until I see more benchmarks that could convince me to upgrade, I won’t.
