Preview: Foxconn Avenger, not another P45 board

Today we received a P45 board from Foxconn. Out there there are all hype for the X58, but not everyone going for enthusiast, P45 will still exist for a long time. So rolling out a new P45 is necessary. This Avenger have been talked about for a long time, and now the launch day is near.
Avenger is different from ordinary P45. The LGA 775 slot has been turned 90 degrees, making room for P45 chipset. The P45 chipset has been placed between LGA 775 and DDR2 DDR3 memory slot, shortening the distance between each other. The special design can lower the latency of data links. Of course, we should run some benchmarks to see its actual performance.
Also you can see a PLX chip between PCIe #1 and PCIe #2. You can also find the same chip in HD 4870 X2, it provides extra PCIe lane for PCIe graphic cards, so you can run X16 Crossfire on this board.
More information is coming next week, so keep tuned please.

Foxconn Avenger have a unique layout.

The PLX chip, extends PCIe lanes.

This board is DDR3 not ddr2 and the PWM is 8-Phase digital, you might want to fix that in the article

maybe it’s another Foxconn with hybrid pwm.
totally digital profiles don’t need such capacitors

what I previously said I know for a fact, confirmed by foxconn rep @ XS
