Silverstone FT01 chassis review

Silverstone FT01(Fortress 01) chassis was a new product line. Just as the TJ07, it was formed from a single sheet of aluminum.

FT01 has the positive air pressure design which optimizes cooling performance. Now we take a test on it.

Introduction:

Designed with positive air pressure concept, the case enables better cooling performance than traditional chassis. Comprised of modern touches such as quick release drive cages and dual 180mm fans, this case is easily the top choice for anyone looking to assemble a top of the line midsize system.

A 180mm fan was setup on top of case that led air blow in. Now we test performance by three instance: first, in default, the air blow in case through the fan; Second, install the fan in the opposite direction, then the air blow out form case through the fan; Third, take off the fan, and airproof the hole.

The CPU temperature through OCCT reading, GPU temperature read through the GPU-Z, and the case temperature through the probe.

The room temperature was 23℃, we run FurMark that CPU and Graphics were load.

The results that, the default instance achieve the best effect, compared to second instance, the CPU temperature will be lower 2 ℃, GPU temperature has dropped by 1 ℃.

Compared to the traditional design, installation a fan at top of case can be able to bring a great cooling performance, and prevent the entry of dust.

Besides the one you see in this review, there are two versions for choose, the black and silver. The price was around 165~199EUR,  the silver one is 10EUR higher than the black one.

That animated picture is really annoying. Looks like a nice case, though. Little too small for my taste.

Great review, and the chassis is very neatly organized.

Oh it’s seem good with 2 holes for water cooling. Sure, I will look for it in my next build.

That build looks damn nice man
