Dual-GPU GTX260 GX2 Officially Branded as GeForce GTX295
Itβs an accomplished fact that GT200 graphics core is updated to be 55nm. We exposed the image of GT200 yesterday, though many people are doubtful about its truth. Anyway, everything will be clear sooner or later, and we believe our readers will have their own correct judgments.
Dual-GPU designed GeForce GTX260 GX2 graphic card will be officially named as GeForce GTX295. Apparently, GeForce GTX295 is coming to regain its dominance of performance which has been grabbed by AMD Radeon HD4870X2. It will utilize two GT200 of 55nm with 216 stream processors, and probably carry on dual PCB design. As of now, the frequency and memory are not known yet.
Our source indicates that the design of GeForce GTX295 graphic cards has been finished, and its trial-production and test process will follow later. With the big day coming closer, itβs time for GTX295 card to show itself.

Hopefully the GTX295 will be very overclockable unlike the 4870×2.

It hard to believe GTX295 has good oc ability for now.

I personally think that this card has come too late. Who even needs this kind of power. Even my 8800GTS is sufficient for most games and with DX11 cards just around the corner, why waste your money on this? The only reason to buy this card is if it supports DX11 and that’s unfortunately not the case. Roll on the Direct X 11 GFX cards.

Yipee! A 300W video card! Just what I always wanted.[/sarc]

I bet it won’t run GTA4 above medium settings!

not yet. wait for a patch by R* and a driver with sli profile support from NV; but as it seems gta4 is heavily vram bound (bad coding?). and remember, like ATI NV has to split the full amount of the available gddr ram for both gpu’s.
so…the conclusion? give us finally a shared vram, thats all we ask for, isn’t it?

Nice Nice… Looking forward for this monster card.

@ crap, and amey:
I’ve seen pics of leaked GTAIV getting 25fps in the middle of a street with everything maxed@1680×1050. E6400 and GTX260 core 216.
If the pirater had a quadcore they’d probably have much better preformance. In short, a single core 216 is fine for GTAIV, a dual config depends on drivers.

It is a madness of Nvidia and ATI to take money of peoples. Why they do not make a grafic card with 4 or 8 CPU with 4 or 8 Gb memory to know something. When you bye a new video card you need a new power suply ,everyone know that, new coolers and may be new case. That meen a computer is like a car you always need to take money from your pokets, and me question is what you win of that ?

Shaolin Warrior, yeah, uh.. your comment is rather idiotic. But yeah, if it can be done it would have been done by now. But no, so that is why any electronic industries provides guides and what requirements you may need for the products, otherwise the product may not work as intended. Unfortunately it does cost money in most cases. Just about every electronic item you buy, to enjoy you need to spend more. Buy a HD TV, not enjoyable unless you pay for HD programming, BD players. Buy a Digital Camera, you need to buy memory cards, or additional battery sometimes. List goes on, and on, and on. So it’s either a fully work, or need more parts to make it work. Anyone got a $billion USD to spare for me so I don’t have to complain about the prices?

I don’t see what nvidia trying to get out with releasing this card, they will lack what ATi has to offer in the performance / price and driver department, I think this is another nvidia attempt at trying to get back in the game which they are behind.
December 5th, 2008 at 8:21 am
behind was? and not beating the ati’s x2 is a lame statement. sure, not every benchmarck can be won but i think this card will show his muscles.
but the lifetime will be realy short. 4 till 5 months like the last two gx2’s at best.
comes summer the long awaited 40nm node should change things trastically in the gpu market, for both sides
December 5th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
Yeah, I cant wait for this card
December 6th, 2008 at 12:17 am
@superfly,
they are trying to piss you of ATi fanbuoi, ATi had a good offer, now it;s over, especially 4870 is more expensive than vanilla 260 and 10 euros cheaper than the more powerful core 216.

WTF it’s me the real ChaoticBeauty. To whoever wrote that previous post pretending to be moi, fuck off clown. Although i am a true ATi zealot (well they pay me for being an AT products forum peddler) i would never have written something as silly as that.Well atleast not that silly.
