Voltage Regulator Diode Reduces Speed of Fan Efficiently
One of our readers goodffd had a review of 1W 4.7V voltage regulator diode, and found that it could reduce the voltage greatly. He chose Sanyo 9225, NMB 12025 and NMB 8025 fans to test, and let’s check out the review results.

* Sanyo 9AH0912M4D04 9225 fan (Declining rate: 43%)

The voltage after connecting the voltage regulator diode
Before: 2206 RPM
After: 1250 RPM
* NMB 4710KL-04W-B19 12025 fan (Declining rate: 46%)

The voltage after connecting the voltage regulator diode
Before: 1538 RPM
After: 820 RPM
* NMB 3110KL-04W-B29 8025 (Declining rate: 43%)

The voltage after connecting the voltage regulator diode
Before: 2576 RPM
After: 1464 RPM
Generally speaking, when 4.7V voltage regulator diode is ultilized, the speed of fan reduces by around 43%. When you touch the diode, you even don’t feel obvious heat. Compared with serial-resistence speed reduction wire, this way is apparently more stable and effective.
This useful way of DIY is really worthy of our appreciation. Just take a little more time to think and do ourselves, there’re so much surprises in our lives.

nice, you could also sleeve it up and it would look great
