MSI Announces Two Models of AM3 Motherboard
After Asus and Gigabyte brought out AM3 motherboard, MSI has now announced its 790FX-GD70 and 790GX-G65 motherboard featuring AMD 790FX/SB750 chipset.
790FX-GD70 supports ATI CrossFire technology which enhances 3D game performance, making it to be a good choice for gamers. It supports 4 xPCI-E 2.0 x16 cards, enabling 4 high-end graphics card to work at the same time. It also supports four dual-channel DDR3 1333 memory slots up to 16GB, 5-phase DrMOS power design and APS (Active Phase Switching). 790FX-GD70 is equipped with 8 SATA, 1 eSATA hard disk interface and one IEEE1394.

790GX-G65 motherboard supports ATI CrossFireX and Hybrid CrossFireX. It features DVI and D-Sub port, 5 SATA, 1 eSATA and 1 IEEE1394 interface.
Besides, these two models of motherboard both support OC Dial and MAX FSB Advanced Overclocking Technology, but no words on pricing or availability for now.

Hm… 6 + 2 S-ATAs… that sounds nice, this way if a S-ATA optical drive would be used it wouldn’t interfere in a RAID setup.
Sad thing about the DDR3, rumors have it that PHII is struggling on DDR3 systems… I hope it’s just rumors and that AMD will make it working and stable!

I’ve think it’s because DDR2 is so cheap and abundant that AMD/INTC are holding off on DDR3. Give it a year or two and DDR3 will be cheap as dirt. Then DDR4 will be rearing it’s head.

Pink and blue slots? Brown PCB? Purple connectors? It’s like they want you to not buy the cheaper model or they are color blind.
