Toshiba to Start SSD Production in Philippines in Q2

 

The buyer of Fujitsu’s hard drive business, Toshiba, has noted that it will start to manufacture SSDs in Philippines in Q2.

Toshiba’s intention is to increase its SSD output and reduce production costs effectively. According to Tcmagazine, Toshiba is planning to manufacture SSDs with capacities from 64GB to 512GB featuring 43nm NAND flash memory chips. Toshiba hopes to control about 30% of the SSD market by March 2011.
