Intel P55 Chipset Postponed to October

Intel postponed the launch schedule of Lynnfield CPUs and P55 chipset to the end of August or the beginning of September in January as motherboard makers suffered overstocked chipset inventory caused by the economic decline. But now, it seems they’ll be delayed to an even later time, maybe October.
The fellows at Fudzilla believes that Intel is doing some re-jigging of the P55 chipset, such as bringing forward some features from the P57 chipset. Intel doesn’t feel enough pressure from AMD, and they also want to give its current entry-level CPU inventory more time to clear.
We have to wait a while for the actual launch of Core i5 and P55, but Intel’s partners are allowed to showcase some P55 motherboards at ComputeX 2009 held during the first week of June.
