The first 40nm desktop GPU Radeon HD 4770 (RV740) is scheduled to release today, and AMD have been advertising this card as the fastest one under $100. With such amazing cost performance, HD 4770 has been really hot.

First Look at Radeon HD 4770 CrossFire Benchmark

 

Introduction

Last weekend we posted the first review of Radeon HD 4770. Like we stated, the excellent performance of Radeon HD 4770 in power consumption, overclocking, temperature and noise control mainly owe to the 40nm manufacturing process and what the new processing brings. Let’s put it this way, Radeon HD 4770 is the biggest surprise that AMD brings us since HD 4800 Series.

AMD ever designed HD 4870 X2 back in last August, which pushed NVIDIA to make GeForce GTX295 in response. Considering HD 4770′s great success, we’re wondering if AMD should make a HD 4770 X2 at this time point.
