Radeon HD 4830 is an affordable graphics card from AMD based on RV770LE chip which is priced at around $89.99. Recently, several buyers of HD 4830 find something interesting: the HD 4830 actually features 800 stream processors, instead of 640 ones. Intel Offers Firmware Fix For X25-M/X18-M SSDs |
The guys at PCPerspective did a long-term performance analysis of Intel mainstream SSDs back in February, and revealed that the write combining feature in Intel SSDs caused internal fragmentation that could hurt performance significantly—dropping write speeds to 25-30MB/s in some cases. The article noted, “We found that a ‘used’ X25-M will always perform worse than a ‘new’ one, regardless of any adaptive algorithms that may be at play.” Intel has been hedging on this issue, and until now, they quietly push out a v1.1 update for the 80GB and 160GB versions of the aforementioned devices.

UMC has announced that it has delivered customer ICs produced on its High Performance 40nm process technology. The products were manufactured with excellent cycle time and yields for the large die-size programmable logic chips, which leveraged the foundry’s triple-gate oxide, 12 metal layers and copper/low-k technology to enable 65% reduced power consumption and more than twice the density improvement over previous 65nm generation products.
