Radeon HD 4730 in The Works

 

Radeon HD 4770 has been hardly available because of the 40nm yield issue, especially in China. As the stock of HD 4830 reduces, AMD doesn’t have advantage any more at this price point. Therefore, AMD is planning to push something called Radeon HD 4730.

NVIDIA’s G300 Clockspeeds Leaked Out

 

Since NVIDIA G300 has been already taped out, the engineering sample is expected to be out soon. The German hardware website Hardware-infos has unveiled the frequencies of G300.

The samples of G300-A1-Stepping are coming with core/shader/memory clock of 700/1600/1100MHz. As we reported, the G300 features 512 stream processors, so the theoretical computing capacity should reach 2457GFLOPS.

ATI Catalyst 9.5 Hardly Brings Performance Improvements

 

ATI Catalyst 9.5 Driver was leaked last Saturday, but the new driver is still unavailable at AMD website. The changelist is unknown yet, but there should be some compatability enhancements and bug fixes. Besides, Catalyst 9.5 has added support for Radeon HD 4770.

GT300 Taped Out Already?

 

NVIDIA’s next-generation GPU GT300 was rumored to be taped out in June, but according to the tech site Brightsideofnews, GT300 has been taped out between January and March. The silicon is A1, but NVIDIA might be forced to tape out A2 silicon to get production-grade yields.

NVIDIA’s GT300 chip has several codenames to avoid any confusion. The GT300 is destined to become a Tesla part, G300 is the desktop GeForce card, while G300GL is upcoming Quadro part.
