NVIDIA GeForce GT220 Die Shot Exposed

We’ve managed to score a picture of GeForce GT220 codenamed GT216. Shown as above, the die is marked with “GT216-350-A2″. The die size should be smaller to previous ones thanks to the application of 40nm technology.
As NVIDIA’s first 40nm desktop GPU, GeForce GT220 targets entry-level segment, and will take the place of GeForce 9500 series.

Let hope it continue twice the pipeline. 9500 = 8600. This one show about the same pepeline with 9600.

But,this is 128bit ,and the 9600GT is 256bit.

yes as this one is GDDR5 and not GDDR3, so they can keep the bandwidth using GDDR5 high clock, same as Radeon HD 4000 series
