
According to Intel’s public roadmap, the upcoming 32nm Westmere won’t be quite different from the current 45nm Nehalem, while the Sandy Bridge will introduce the new micro-architecture. The French site Canard PC revealed that Sandy Bridge was taped out already in June.

Last month AMD admitted that its short supply of ATI Radeon HD 4770 GPUs was due to TSMC’s disappointing manufacturing yield on 40nm technology, and 40nm yield issue hasn’t been improved significantly till now, which makes us start to wonder if AMD would be angry and turn to Globalfoundries instead.
However, AMD says it will continue to work with the Taiwanese chipmaker. “We’ve had a 10 year relationship with TSMC, they are a primary manufacturing partner,” Rick Bergman, AMD’s Senior Vice President of platforms told the INQ.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 die shot was leaked in late June, and several sources have informed that NVIDIA will adopt the 40nm technology for their entry-level products before introducing it to the high-end segment, considering the fact that TSMC 40nm technology is not well-developed enough.
According to Hardware-infos, NVIDIA is very likely to launch G210 and GT 220 at GTC (GPU Technology Conference) which will take place from September 30th to October 2nd in San Jose.
