OCZ Also Halts Sales of Elpida Hyper-based DRAMs

 

Following Corsair, OCZ has also decided to hold the use of relative products, due to earlier reports of failing memory modules based on Elpida Hyper chips.

OCZ claims that the company has not yet seen extended failures in the field, and the Elpida Hyper IC’s they’ve used came from earlier batches, which might be the reason why they’re not seeing field issues. But as a proactive measure based on the latest information from media reviewers like AnandTech they have officially held the use of any Elpida Hyper IC’s.

AMD: DirectX 11 Radeons Pleasantly Fast

Google Unveils Partner List for Chrome OS

 

After announcing the Chrome OS earlier this week, Google has now shed some lights on the partners for the open source operating system.

The list published includes Acer, Adobe, Asus, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments and Toshiba. It’s a bit surprising that we didn’t see Intel or Dell, but Google notes that the list will be updated over time, so we’ll hopefully see lots of more names.

Thermalright Cools Radeon HD 4890/4870 with VRM Coolers

 

Thermalright has recently unveiled VRM R1 and VRM R2 to cool the VRM area of the Radeon HD 4890 and HD 4870. Both featuring two heatpipes and a copper base, the VRM R1 and VRM R2 weigh 160g each, and can be equipped with an 80mm fan.
