Bill Dally, the Chief Technology Officer at NVIDIA, has recently said that he is “familiar with some projects that are underway to enable CUDA on other platforms”. Viewing the bigger picture of GPGPU, there’re a couple of general purpose standards available, including OpenCL and Microsoft’s DirectX Compute. NVIDIA and AMD both have their own standards as well, however, NVIDIA’s CUDA is generally believed to be a bit better than Stream.

One of Top Five Cell-Phone Makers to Utilize Tegra as Early as Q4 |
Mike Rayfield, the General Manager of NVIDIA’s mobile unit says that one of the top five cell-phone makers will utilize the company’s Tegra chip in a phone as early as the fourth quarter of this year.
Rayfield didn’t name the manufacturer clearly, but analysts think it’s mostly likely to be Samsung or Motorola, as Tegra chip can only support Google Android, Microsoft Windows Mobile and Windows CE operating systems.
