Intel Raises Third-Quarter Revenue Expectation by $0.5 Billion

TSMC and Fujitsu Collaborate on 28nm Process Technology

 

Fujitsu Microelectronics Limited and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd. on Thursday announced that they have agreed to jointly develop an enhanced high-performance process technology by utilizing TSMC’s advanced technology platform. As a result, TSMC will take care of the foundry production of Fujitsu’s 28nm logic LCs.

The collaborative effort combines Fujitsu’s expertise and strength in advanced high-speed process and low-power design technologies with TSMC’s expertise and strength in power-efficient high-performance logic/SoC process, and the first 28nm samples are expected to ship at the end of 2010.
