Quick Test of Most Powerful GTX260 from Zotac
Overclocking ability
As the sample doesn’t come with a cooler, we used the third-party cooler for test.

Default frequencies of GeForce GTX260 Extreme
Zotac GTX 260 Extreme comes with core/shader/memory clock of 750/1600/1200MHz, up from 576/1242/999MHz on the reference design.

Equipped with Arctic Cooling XTREME GTX 280 cooler, the card can run steadily at 800/1770/1375MHz (core/shader/memory), and 3DMark Vantage score achieves P15977 – an increase of 10.7%.

After changing for a more powerful fan and adding heatsink for the Mosfet, the clocks can be improved to 820/1800/1375MHz.

Zotac GTX260 Extreme can be effortlessly overclocked to above 800MHz, and its performance can even outperform GeForce GTX285…
The awesome card is expected to be available in Chinese market next month, with lower pricing than GeForce GTX275. Zotac is also working on a GeForce GTX285 with 15 phase PWM design as well. We do look forward to seeing more of Zotac’s engineering skills in the future.

These cards look so much cooler without the vacuum cleaners on them. Hey I just thought of another wonderful use for transparent aluminum.
