Intel Raises Third-Quarter Revenue Expectation by $0.5 Billion

Thanks to stonger than expected demand for microprocessors and chipsets, Intel Corporation now expects revenue for the third quarter to be $9.0 billion, plus or minus $200 million, as compared to the previous range of $8.5 billion, plus or minus $400 million.
The $9.0 billion shows a slight increase over $8.0 billion for the second quarter, but still worse than the third quarter last year ($10.2 billion).
Besides, the gross margin percentage for the third quarter is expected to be in the upper half of the previous range of 53 percent, plus or minus two percentage points. All other expectations are unchanged.
Anyway, the answers will be out when the company reports its third-quarter financial results on Oct. 13.

would you happen to mean 0.5 Billion, because from 8.5 billion to 9 billion isn’t 5 billion (unless 8.5 is wrong and it was forcast for 4billion)
