AMD Intros 40W ACP Six-Core Opteron EE Processor

AMD today announced the new energy-efficient Six-Core processor, Opteron 2419 EE, which is based on 45nm process technology and coming with a 40W ACP (average power consumption).
According to the company, AMD Opteron 2419 EE supports AMD Virtualization and AMD-P features, delivering up to 31% higher performance-per-watt over standard Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors.
This 40W ACP processor will be available from system builders for cloud and Web 2.0 applications and other dense computing environments.
Working at 1.8GHz and featuring Socket 1207 package as well as 6MB of L3 cache, the Opteron 2419 EE costs $989 in business quantities.
