AMD Plans Three-core Phenom II X3 740

AMD seems to have been concentrated on the DirectX 11 graphics cards for a while – now, there is finally something new about the CPU part.
According to Fudzilla, AMD is launching one more three core CPU based on Heka 45nm, the Phenom II X3 740. It will feature 3.0GHz clock speed, 7.5MB of total cache, and a TDP of 95W.
The availability or pricing is unknown yet, but it should be coming in September.

Somthing doesn’t add up.
With a few exceptions (X4-920/940), the Phenom II line has had a decent model number system. Calling this chip a 740 would break the pattern.
705e@2.5GHz
+xx5&0.1GHz=
710@2.6GHz
+x10&0.2GHz=
720@2.8GHz
Therefore a 3.0GHz x3 should be branded as a “Phenom II X3 730″. So, unless this is going to be a 3.2 or AMD has made a corporate-level typo, this is just screwed up. Maybe it was just Fudo…
